The woman that most people know as Suzanne Somers was actually born Suzanne Marie Mahoney in San Bruno, California. The “Queen of the Jiggles” as she has been dubbed, today may be most known by the younger generation for the myriad of products that she has promoted and endorsed in recent years. Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Suzanne Somers:

§         Suzanne’s bubbly, sparkly personality has always been her trademark but as a child she was emotionally and physically abused by her alcoholic father.

§         Somers was diagnosed with dyslexia as a child

§         Suzanne was initially slated play the role of “Jill Munroe” in the hit show “Charlie’s Angels” but would eventually lose it to the iconic Farrah Fawcett.

§         Somers once appeared on “The Dating Game” as a contestant

§         In 1970 Suzanne Somers was arrested for writing bad checks but the charges were dropped after she agreed to pay restitution.

§         Somers and her former co-star from “Three’s Company,” Joyce Dewitt did not speak for 20 years

§         When things fell apart on ‘Three’s Company’ after Suzanne requested more money and boycotted a few shows, she was no longer allowed to film with the show’s two stars, John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt.

§         Somers wasn’t the first choice for the role of ‘Chrissy’ on Three’s Company, she was the fourth.
